BACO LEPAGE-ACOSTA

PROJECT // Open house dans mon cerveau — TechnoJuggling

BIOGRAPHY

Baco Lepage-Acosta’s artistic / life path is all over the place. In the genre of multidisciplinary homebody that occasionally comes out to play, they like to mix it up. A slow walker at heart, although they can speed up, they work in resistance to linear time. Their practice is based on building playgrounds, problem solving and connecting the dots. They dance, work with videos and juggle.

Their main inspirations to date are: the fleuve, snuggles, sweets, fun textures, layers, dogs and puppycats. They take joy in learning, jokes, curiosity, honesty, kindness, and friendship. Baco lives in Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang.

DETAILS OF THE PROJECT
My time in this residency will be used to explore the ways I juggle with my environment and electronic/digital tools. Never interested in the quantity of objects, I am growing in my perception of what juggling is: a body in relation to any elements.

Starting with the basic concept of juggling patterns, I will be playing with different materials such as sensors, camera tracking, sounds and lights to build an installation in movement. My research reimagines juggling multi-dimensionally. It dives into sculpting a space where it can adapt and take shape – however, my curiosity moulds it.
