EDUARDO RUIZ-VERGARA

PROJECT // Polyphonie. Solo performatif pour voix en voie de disparition.

BIOGRAPHY

Anchored around the notions of presence and presentation, Eduardo Ruiz-Vergara (project designer, researcher, and artist in performing arts) delves into the transformation and distortions of bodies, the reconfiguration of thoughts, and the influence of mediums to bring forth the emotions and affects that reside and hide within them. Embracing an interdisciplinary approach, he seeks harmonization between science and art by employing strategies of composition and creation from visual arts and image processing, choreographic thought, and creative writing to investigate the field of movement arts. His creations align with an exploratory approach based on tactility and movement, leading him to explore the relationships between sound, voice, image, and literature. Creative reflection and the staging of polysensorial experiences are now at the forefront of his creative, pedagogical, and professional interests.

DETAILS OF THE PROJECT
POLYPHONIE is a performative dance that introduces the notion of deconstruction through a series of continuous connections, both physical and spatial, that merge to shape a polysensorial experience. The ephemeral body language allows for a symbolic dialogue between living and ancestral memories, where threatened voices find new channels to resonate and be heard.

By immersing myself in the space and in the polymorphic registers of the body, I aim to establish on stage a state of presence where each element of creation contributes to the elaboration of the dramaturgy of the work through the codes of contemporary dance, object animation, visual arts, and sound specialization. Through a theatricality of the here and now and the live deconstruction of gestures, movements, electroacoustic sounds, and voice, I seek to awaken bodily sensations in the spectator.
